C.i Xpress

Hi there, Guinea Pig P here. The other day I went to C.i Xpress in the newly renovated Old Wing in One Utama. As you can tell from the name this is the Asian version of your typical fast food restaurant. You order your food at the front counter from the 'standing' menu.

They offer dishes like char siew (BBQ pork) with rice, wonton with char siew, siu yok (roasted pork) and similar dishes.

Ambience wise it's clean, comfortable and looks pretty cool with its orange dominant interior.

So the first thing I tried was the kuey teow noodle with seaweed, it was better than what I though it would be the soup was clear and not too salty and the seaweed added extra flavour to it. The noodles were also nice and it didn't have that flour-y taste like most noodles have. But after a while the taste started to go bland so I give it 4/5

Next was wonton noodles with char siew, the noodles were quite good and the char siew was nice and tender considering this is a fast food restaurant. The sauce was flavourful but a little too sweet for me so I give this 3/5

This is char siew with rice. The rice was surprisingly soft and chewy so together with the egg, char siew
and vegetable it makes quite a good meal and it's a pretty big portion as well. 4/5

My favourite one of all, the siu yok. The skin's crispy and it's not  too salty. Not much to say here 4.5/5 considering AGAIN this is a fast food restaurant.

Drinks aren't much to talk about, just ice lemon tea, soya milk, milk tea and the likes.

And don't expect your food to be served piping hot, but when food arrives within 5-7 minutes does it really matter?

Overall, this place is 4.5/5 so if you want a fast, affordable and satisfying meal go to C.i Xpress.
